Waterfront Employers—ILA Pension and Welfare Plan is administered and maintained by the Trustees pursuant to the provisions of an Agreement and Declaration of Trust originally dated October 3, 1957, and most recently amended and restated September 6, 2001, as amended from time to time, and a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the South Carolina Stevedores Association and the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District of the International Longshoremen’s Association, as re-negotiated from time to time, both of which documents are incorporated herein by reference.
The entire cost of the benefits provided by the Pension and Welfare Plans currently is paid by the Funds, and the Funds are funded by Employer Contributions pursuant to the Collective Bargaining Agreement. However, the continuation and amount of such contributions is subject to the continuation or re-negotiation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Your Trustees have thus far been able to continue providing what they consider a high level of coverage and benefits for participants.
